Vernal Fall is a 317-foot waterfall on the Merced River in Yosemite National Park, California. This hike has great views of Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall in the distance, a close encounter with Vernal Fall, and a taste of trekking on "America's most famous trail," the 211-mile John Muir Trail, from the northern terminus at the John Muir Vernal Fall Trailhead (Happy Isles Trailhead) to the southern terminus located on the summit of Mount Whitney.
