Hollywood Sign on Mount Lee

Hike the Hollywood Sign via Hollyridge Trail.

The Hollywood Sign is a Los Angeles landmark and recognizable around the world, situated on Mount Lee at the western end of Griffith Park. The Hollyridge Trail provides an excellent view of the Hollywood Sign. At the summit of Mount Lee (elevation 1,673') behind and above the Hollywood Sign, you will be rewarded with a bird's-eye view of the LA basin.

Update: The gate to the Hollyridge Trailhead at the top of North Beachwood Drive has been closed to the public. As of 07/29/2017, there is a big sign on the side door stating "NO PARK ACCESS."

Hike the Hollywood Sign via Canyon Dr/Brush Canyon Trail.

An alternate route one may take is the hike of Hollywood Sign via Canyon Dr/Brush Canyon Trail. In this hike, two side trips may be considered to take. One is a hike to the Batcave (Bronson Caves), home of the Batmobile in the 1960s The Batman TV series, 0.6 mile round trip. Another is a hike to the Tyrolian Tank area for viewing the full front of the Hollywood Sign, an out and back hike of 0.8 mile.
